Upgrading dermatology knowledge of rural doctors
Dermatology is not adequately taught in undergraduate curriculum at all medical colleges. MBBS, BHMS, BAMS, BUMS and other rural colleges have students passing their exams and entering private practice. Many of them go into private practice but their knowledge of normal skin and its diseases is lacking.
Dr. Rajan TD addresses them through group lectures and helps them to diagnose simple skin diseases to treat their patients better. In remote places, knowing good treatment of skin diseases would not only help the doctor to handle his patients better and upgrade the quality of life of the poor villager who cannot visit the city for treatment.
Once trained, Dr Rajan will provide teledermatology support to these patients at a fixed time every week.
